Sisterhood Annual Meeting & Lunch
All Sisterhood members are invited to join us for our Sisterhood Annual Meeting & Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19 at 12:00pm at Sol Y Luna Restaurant. We will vote on the Nominating Committee’s 2026-2028 Slate of Officers and Trustees, talk about the latest Sisterhood activities and enjoy a delish lunch together.

Celebrating Shavuot
Join us as we celebrate Shavuot and commemorate the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the grain harvest for the summer.
Thursday, May 21, 7:00pm — Evening Service followed by Cheesecake and Blintzes Bake-Off & Tikkun Leil Shavuot Study Sessions.
Study sessions will be led by Cantor Labow and Rabbi Bentley.
Anyone who wants to make a cheesecake or blintzes to enter in the cook-off should contact Sheryl Solomon.

Sisterhood “Chai” Tea Party
All Agudas Israel Sisterhood members are invited to our fundraising "Chai" Tea Party featuring The Word Mavens-Joyce Eisenberg and Ellen Scolnic- who serve up stories of Jewish life with wit, warmth, and hilarity. Bring your friends for fun together as we sip tea, share laughs, and indulge on sweet delights. If you want, dress perky to celebrate the day in your springtime apparel-hats, dresses, gloves - whatever makes you feel special.

Save the dates for “What’s Jewish About Jewish Values” A Weekend Scholar-In-Residence Program
Save The Dates July 10-12
We are delighted to present The Bernie Linder Lecture Series Scholar-in-Residence Weekend July 10-12 at Agudas Israel. Our Scholar-in-Residence Rabbi Alan Freedman, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Beth Shalom in Austin, Texas, will lead us in engaging discussions centered on how Jewish text and traditions have guided decision-making across generations and how Jewish ethics resonate today.
Here’s a preview of the weekend:
Friday, July 10, 5:30pm — Shabbat Service featuring a sermon by Rabbi Freedman, followed by Shabbat dinner.
Saturday, July 11, 10:30am — Shabbat morning Torah study examining ethical questions found in the weekly portion Mattot-Masei. Following Torah study, we will share lunch and discuss the moral implications of war through a Jewish lens.
Sunday, July 12, 2:00pm — Presentation and discussion on medical ethics, from genetics to the end of life.

In The News
Agudas Israel Sisterhood brought their knitting and crocheting talents to decorate "Communi-Trees" by the Depot on Maple Street in Hendersonville. Through projects like this, Agudas Israel continues to be an integral part of our community.
